Production of movies and staging of dramas are among the several innovative pedagogical techniques of teaching History that are practiced at the NED DAP. The aim of this exercise is to encompass not only the historical but also cultural context of the selected time period through cross references from the study of the arts, literature and music of different eras from history.
The learning is applied by the students in the sets, costumes, music, and script developed for the play. This performance gave the students an opportunity to learn team building, coordination, apart layout and set designing. Last but not the least it brings immense excitement and a confidence boost amongst the student body.
The plays organized have so far concentrated on periods of Islamic History and have been staged by students and faculty of fourth year architecture.
